History (leaders, founders, where it spread to): it was founded by Jesus Christ (who is considered to be the Son of God), its early leaders were the Apostles (Peter [a.k.a Simon Peter], Andrew, James, John, Batholomew, Philip, Thomas, Matthew, James, Thaddeus, Simon the Zealot, and Matthais [who replaced Judas Iscariot after Judas betrayed Jesus and then killed himself]) and the Fathers of the Church. Christianity spread throughout the Holy Land and Roman Empire and surrounding areas quickly (and much persecution ensued). Eventually, missionaries brought it to the Germanic tribes and, even later, the Asians and the Native Americans. Now-a-days, the pope is the head of the Roman Catholic Church. The Eastern Orthodox Churches have patriarchs, and the Protestant Churches are run by their pastors or bishops above thir pastors.
Sects and Fragmentation: major sects are Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Protestantism. There are other rites of the Catholic Church that aren't nearly as large, and there are around 400,000 Protestant sects. In 1054 the Great Schism happened (after many years of unrest) between the Eastern Orthodox and the eastern Roman Catholic Churches. In the early 1500s, the Protestant Reformation happened (also for many reasons) and the Church (after first splitting into Catholics and Lutherans [named after Martin Luther, the man who "protested" first]) began to split into many different factions, each one finding serious issues with the one before.

Religious Ecology

Relationship with Nature: Christianity teaches that people are stewards of the Earth and are supposed to take care of it and treat it with respect. Christians are allowed to hunt and cut down trees and grow crops for food, but they are not allowed to overhunt or cut down all the trees or destroy the soil byt over-planting their crops. They are supposed to take care of the Earth so that everyone else may enjoy it as well.
Environment and Religious Interactions: since Christians are supposed to be stewards of the Earth, they are normally very involved in keeping their home and the natual areas around it clean and free from pollution (such as trash on beaches or in rivers/streams/ponds/other little bodies of water) since we're supposed to share this Earth with all of God's creation.

Economic Impact and Relationships: organizations such as Catholic Charities, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Salvation Army, and the Red Cross are all non-profit organizations run by Christians. These organizations help people in poverty and, since those people are receiving help, they in turn have better opportunities to find jobs and therefore stimulate the economy.
Pilgrimage: Christians tend to make pilgrimages to the tombs/death/birth/places of work of the Saints or the Popes or people who are considered holy. They also make pilgrimages to places in the Holy Land (such as Golgotha [where Jesus was crucified] or Bethlehem) and throughout Italy (such as Rome and the Vatican).
Political Impact: every president that the United States has had has been a Christian.
